Suspected Reckless Driver Jordin Silva-Vallecillo Arrested in Fatal Sparks Crash

 
SPARKS, NV (May 10, 2023) Sparks Police arrested 18-year old Jordin Silva-Vallecillo following a fatal crash on Oddie Boulevard on May 7.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at El Rancho Drive. Based on a report, Silva-Vallecillo was driving a silver four-door compact car faster than 100 mph prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a VW Passat and another vehicle were going north on El Rancho Drive and were stopped at Oddie Boulevard. Subsequently, the suspect came from behind and crashed directly into the Passat with eight people inside.
 
Then, he left the scene.
 
As a result, one passenger in the Passat was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Crews took at least seven other occupants in the vehicle to Renown for substantial injuries. Police said all in the Passat were teenagers.
 
Police arrested Silva-Vallecillo for reckless driving, 8 counts of leaving the scene of an accident, as well as driving without a valid license or insurance charges.
 
At this point, no other details are available. In addition, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
