Speeding Driver Involved in Fatal Accident on Westmoreland Road near Illinois Avenue in Dallas

 
DALLAS, TX (October 12, 2022) – Police confirmed that one died and three suffered injuries following an accident on South Westmoreland Road on October 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near West Illinois Avenue around 11:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, Dallas police tried to stop a Dodge Charger prior to the crash. At that point, the Dodge sped off and the officers did not chase him. Moments later, the Dodge sped through a red light and clipped an SUV. Subsequently, it rolled across the center median and hit a pickup truck.
 
As a result, the Dodge driver died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the name of the victim, pending kin notification.
 
Two adults and a child inside the pickup suffered injuries in the incident while no one in the SUV was hurt.
 
As of now, the crash remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
