AVONDALE, AZ (May 7, 2024) — A pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run on 117th Avenue on Friday, April 26.
 
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received reports at about 5:00 a.m. of a hit-and-run crash. Officers then responded to the area of 117th Avenue and Indian School Road near the Phoenix-Avondale border.
 
When they arrived, they discovered an adult man with life-threatening injuries at the scene. Emergency responders then brought him to the hospital. His identity is not immediately available.
 
MCSO said the driver involved in the crash fled from the scene before authorities arrived.
 
At this time, officials have not released a description of the suspect vehicle.
 
Traffic detectives handle the ongoing investigation of the crash.
