CROCKETT, TX (May 7, 2024) – The Crockett Police Department confirmed that a 43-year-old woman died in an accident in the 10500 block of Culebra Road on April 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 11:51 AM. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger inside a 2005 Jeep SUV traveling east on Loop 304 before the crash.
 
At the same time, a 2014 Ford pickup was traveling south on North 6th Street. Due to unknown reasons, the Ford failed to yield the right of way and hit the Jeep on its left side. The Jeep then lost control and rolled over, ejecting both the driver and the woman.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries in the incident. EMS took her by air ambulance to a hospital, where she later died. Officials did not release her identity, pending kin notification.
 
The driver reportedly had minor injuries but declined hospitalization. The driver of the Ford, a woman from Crockett, also refused care at the scene.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
