Dominic Henley Falls Asleep while Driving on Highway 97 in Cashmere

 
CASHMERE, WA (June 22, 2023) – Officials identified 19-year-old Dominic Henley who fell asleep and crashed on Highway 97 on June 12.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened just north of Blewett Pass shortly after 12:00 PM. Based on a report, Henley fell asleep while driving south on the highway.
 
Subsequently, he drifted into oncoming traffic and sideswiped the SUV of 71-year-old William Deters of Wenatchee. Then, he continued into oncoming traffic and collided with the car of 33-year-old Dustin Sayre of Wenatchee. The impact caused Deters’ vehicle to spin into oncoming traffic and collided with the car of 51-year-old Michael Nordin of Raymond.
 
As a result, Henley, Sayre, Nordin, and three passengers in Nordin’s car were hurt in the crash.
 
Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the wreck.
