Grace Vickers Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 24 in Grant County

 
GRANT COUNTY, WA (November 14, 2023) – Officials identified 19-year-old Grace Vickers of Yakima who died in a crash on Highway 24 on October 29.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at milepost 57 around 3:40 PM. Based on a report, Vickers was driving a 2000 Honda Civic westbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she left the roadway to the right, overcorrected, and turned left into the eastbound lane of traffic. While trying to re-enter the westbound lane, she hit a 2022 Honda Accord driven before coming to a rest in a ditch. After being hit, the Accord rolled and stopped upside down.
 
As a result, Vickers suffered grave injuries and died at the scene
 
Responders transported the driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old Tieton man, to a hospital in Othello.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
