CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (April 30, 2026) — A 35-year-old man identified as Eric Cano died in a pedestrian accident on Monday, April 22.
 
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, the accident happened on Highway 358 near Leopard Street at about 4:10 p.m.
 
The 35-year-old man tried to cross the freeway. Then a truck hit him, said Corpus Christi Police Department Sr. Public Information Officer Travis Pace.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and there are no reported charges.
 
Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office released his identity on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Authorities diverted traffic from 37 Freeway southbound after the accident. They reopened the area by 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
