Otineru Tinifu Dead in Issaquah Accident on Highway 18

 
ISSAQUAH, WA (April 30, 2024) — A 62-year-old Federal Way man identified as Otineru Tinifu died in an accident on Friday, April 19.
 
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the accident occurred on Highway 18, just west of Tiger Mountain State Forest, at around 4:40 a.m.
 
WSP said Tinifu drove a bus that belonged to King County Accessible Services. The vehicle traveled westbound on Highway 18 alongside Tiger Mountain State Forest.
 
Then the bus crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a semi-truck moving eastbound. After that, an SUV struck the back of the semi.
 
WSP confirmed that paramedics brought Tinifu to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.
 
Two other people involved in the crash suffered injuries and paramedics brought them to the Swedish Issaquah Campus hospital. One of them was the semi-truck driver only described as a 41-year-old male from Dupont, Washington.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV was not hurt. Authorities only identified him as a 57-year-old male from Federal Way.
 
A passenger in one of the vehicles, a 34-year-old male from Shelton, Washington, was not injured.
 
The investigation of the incident is still ongoing.
