Mariah Lindsey Arrested, 9 Others Injured in DUI Crash Near Humphrey Road

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (October 11, 2022) – Mariah Lindsey Lopez was arrested after an alleged DUI crash that injured nine people on Highway 20 on September 21.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a crash at the intersection with Humphrey Road around 8:30 p.m. The crash involved two vehicles and injured at least nine people, including children.

31-year-old Lopez, a Meridian resident, was driving a northbound maroon 2008 Honda Pilot with five children on Humphrey Road. 34-year-old Jonathan Reyes of Colusa was heading west in his red 2018 Jeep Compass on Highway 20. He was with three adults and an infant, CHP said.

Lopez was crossing Highway 20 when she failed to yield the right of way to Reyes. The jeep ended up hitting the Honda, according to reports.

There were seven CHP officers, six Sutter County sheriff’s deputies, and crews in seven fire engines at the scene. Six ambulances and a medical helicopter also responded to transport the victims to four hospitals in the region.

A 12-year-old girl suffered from a broken femur. She was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center.

The rest sustained moderate to major injuries, while the infant was uninjured.

According to the officers, Lopez was under the influence of alcohol, and arrested her for DUI and causing injury.
