4 Killed in Renton Car Crash on 140th Avenue

 
RENTON, WA (March 27, 2024) — 38-year-old Andrea Smith Hudson and three children died in a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday, March 19.
 
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involving four vehicles occurred around 12:45 p.m. in the 19200 block of 140th Avenue Southeast near Southeast 192nd Street.
 
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Hudson, 13-year-old Matilda Wilcoxson, 12-year-old Eloise Wilcoxson, and 12-year-old Boyd B. Brown died in the crash.
 
Police said all four of them died due to multiple blunt force injuries.
 
Paramedics brought three other people to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Another person sustained minor injuries.
 
Detectives identified the causing driver as an 18-year-old man who was among the injured people. As of Wednesday afternoon, he is receiving treatment at Harborview Medical Center. The KCSO said he is under guard and he has pending criminal charges.
 
The King County Sheriff’s Office said speed may have contributed as a factor in the crash based on the preliminary investigation.
 
According to the sheriff’s office, it could be weeks before investigators find out what exactly happened prior to the fatal incident.
