Aaron Hernandez Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Suspect Dontay Waffer in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (April 26, 2024) – The Austin Police Department identified Aaron Alcala Hernandez who died in a hit-and-run on East Riverside Drive on April 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Parker Lane around 2:30 AM. Based on a report, a vehicle hit Hernandez and fled the scene.
 
As a result, Hernandez suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police identified the hit-and-run driver as Dontay Waffer. Officers were able to locate and arrest him with an accident charge involving death and DWI.
 
Police ask anyone with any information about this crash to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111 or submit a tip anonymously through Capital Area Crime Stoppers online or by calling 512-472-8477.
