Donald Harms Killed in Rollover Accident on 10 Freeway near Highway 347

CHANDLER, AZ (August 26, 2024) — An 11-year-old child identified as Donald Harms died after a rollover accident on Tuesday, August 13.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers, they responded to the crash at about 6:30 a.m. on the 10 Freeway near Highway 347.

The initial investigation determined that Harms was a passenger in a blue Ford Explorer that experienced a blown tire while moving eastbound on 10 Freeway at milepost 166. His mom, who was behind the wheel, was unable to control the vehicle following the tire failure. As a result, the vehicle went into the dirt median.

After that, the Explorer re-entered the eastbound lanes and overturned. Then a Ford pickup truck hit the Explorer. Harms died at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics brought the mother to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The four occupants of the pickup were uninjured.

In a GoFundMe page, the boy’s family said that the deceased goes by the nickname “Noley.” In addition, they said he loved puppets, football, and his siblings.

Aaron Rinker, the uncle of the deceased, said the family decided to donate Harms’ retinas, heart valve, and his knees.

Our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of Donald Harms.
