Roberto Sainez and Vanessa Landerso Arrested in Hit-and-Run on Stoneman Avenue [Pittsburg, CA]

17-Year-Old Killed in Pittsburg Hit-and-Run, Vanessa Landerso and Roberto Sainez Detained

 
PITTSBURG, CA (March 21, 2023) – Pittsburg Police officers arrested 34-year-old Roberto Sainez and his fiancée, 30-year-old Vanessa Landerso, after a hit-and-run on Stoneman Avenue on March 14.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Briarcliff Drive around 7:15 PM. Based on a report, Sainez struck a 17-year-old pedestrian near the intersection.
 
Officers found the woman lying on the roadway with injuries consistent with being struck by a car. In addition, officers said the suspect fled away from the scene.
 
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where she later died.
 
Investigators reviewed countless hours of video surveillance and identified Sainez to be the driver of the vehicle. Officers booked him into Contra Costa County jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and other charges.
 
Landeros was booked into jail on suspicion of accessory after the fact and destroying or concealing evidence.
