Fatal Rear-End Crash on Railroad Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 6, 2023) – The Riverside Police Department Traffic Bureau confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man in a rear-end crash on Railroad Avenue on January 30.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Winstrom Street around 2:37 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a 2007 Toyota Scion sedan westbound on Railroad prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he crossed over into eastbound lanes and struck the rear of a parked garbage truck.
 
As a result, the man sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release his name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the garbage truck was not hurt.
