Fatal Single-Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway in Castaic

 
CASTAIC, CA (February 6, 2023) – The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed one death in a rollover crash on 5 Freeway on January 31.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Lake Hughes Road around 9:58 AM. Based on a report, the victim was one of the four occupants of a two-door Honda sedan that was traveling on the freeway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the sedan veered to the left side of the freeway and collided with the dirt embankment. Subsequently, the vehicle overturned in the incident.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the deceased’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Paramedics said the three occupants sustained injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
