Riley Sullivan and Rex Devenny Dead, One Injured in San Juan Capistrano Car Crash

 
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (February 2, 2023) – Riley Hans Sullivan and Rex Aziz Devenny died in a car crash at Rancho Viejo Road and Malaspina Road on Sunday.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal collision happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. near the 5 Freeway.

Based on reports, a sedan carrying three people crashed into a tree for unknown reasons.

Authorities identified the driver as 21-year-old Sullivan of Creston and his front seat passenger as 19-year-old Devenny of Capistrano. Both of them died at the scene.

Responders rushed the backseat passenger to the Mission Hospital with critical injuries. Witnesses got him out of the vehicle, police say.

At this point, the cause of the crash remains unknown. However, police are working on the investigation.
