CHP Officer Trapped in Vehicle, Krystal Ramos Detained for DUI Accident in Garden Grove

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (December 13, 2022) – A CHP officer was injured while Krystal Amy Ramos is now in custody after a DUI car crash on State Route 22 on December 4.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the collision occurred on westbound State Route 22, not far from Euclid Street around 8:45 p.m. Initial reports showed that the officer was then assisting a driver who had car problems at the time of the accident.

The officer’s 2018 Dodge patrol was resting on the right shoulder of State Route 22 when the Chevy SUV swerved and hit it.

Responders had to use the jaws of life to free the officer from the vehicle. They transported him to UCI Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Authorities said there were two juveniles in the SUV with Ramos. A family member picked up both of them with no injuries afterwards. However, Ramos was sent to Garden Grove Hospital for medical clearance.

Records confirmed that Ramos is facing charges of felony DUI and child endangerment.
