Marshall Tapani Killed, Suspected DUI Driver Katie Torguson Involved in Crash on Highway 240 in Richland

 
RICHLAND, WA (October 17, 2022) – Police identified 26-year-old Marshall Tapani of Pasco as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 240 just after midnight on October 15.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Steptoe Street.
 
Based on a report, Tapani was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry driven in the eastbound lane of the freeway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, 33-year-old Katie B. Torguson of Kennewick drove on the wrong way and struck the victim’s car head-on.
 
As a result, Tapani was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he died.
 
Emergency crews also sent Torguson to Kadlec but her condition was not immediately available.
 
Police accused Kennewick of being drunk or intoxicated at the time of the crash. As of now, the cause of the collision remained under investigation.
