Trezanay Dykes, Alize Lopez Die in Franklin Car Crash on Highway 79

 
FRANKLIN, TX (October 17, 2022) – Police identified Trezanay Moore Dykes and Alize Lopez as the victims who died in a crash on Highway 79 on October 11.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Decherd Street shortly after 10:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Dykes was driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata at the wrong side of the road prior to the crash. Subsequently, the vehicle hit a 2016 Peterbilt 18-wheeler head-on.
 
23-year-old Dykes of Killeen was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
The passenger, identified as 24-year-old Lopez of Granger, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the driver of the 18-wheeler to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no further information is available.
