Janet Mendoza Suspected in Fatal Santee Pedestrian Accident on Highway 67

 
SANTEE, CA (September 26, 2022) – Police arrested Janet Mendoza following a fatal hit-and-run on Highway 67.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Woodside Avenue around 12:23 AM on September 23.
 
Based on a report, a CHP sergeant noticed a blue Nissan Altima with front end damage on 8 Freeway. After conducting a stop on the Nissan driver, officers checked for signs of a crash in nearby areas.
 
Later on, they discovered the body of a man on the right shoulder of southbound Highway 67. The man had suffered injuries that were consistent with someone who had been hit by a vehicle.
 
As a result, an attending coroner pronounced the man dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
Then, police arrested Janet Mendoza, 27, on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
