Michael Richardson Jr. Struck and Killed by Suspected DUI Driver Herschel Pearson in Grand Prairie

 
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (October 4, 2022) – Police arrested Herschel Pearson following a pedestrian accident that killed 6-year-old Michael Richardson Jr. on Regency Drive on September 10.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the boy was returning back home after picking up a ball prior to the crash. As he was crossing the street, Grand Prairie police said that a Chevy SUV hit him.
 
As a result, the boy suffered severe injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
Investigators said 35-year-old Pearson was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Police arrested and charged him with intoxication manslaughter.
 
At this point, no other details are available. Also, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
