Multiple Injuries Sustained in Four-Car Crash on 5 Freeway in Seattle
SEATTLE, WA (October 4, 2022) – At least seven people suffered injuries in a four-car crash that occurred on 5 Freeway on September 10.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near the Seattle Convention Center around 8:36 AM.
Based on a report, a 2021 Jeep and a 2016 Honda Civic stopped for traffic. Then, a 1996 Nissan 200SX abruptly stopped for traffic. At that time, a 2018 Ram 1500 pickup wasn’t able to stop and struck the Nissan, causing the Nissan to hit the Civic. Then, the Civic rotated and struck the Jeep, while the pickup struck the Civic.
As a result, the seven motorists suffered injuries in the incident.
In the end, the driver of the Ram, a 19-year-old Shoreline resident was cited for following too closely. The suspect was not hurt in the incident.
Police said drugs or alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash. However, an investigation is ongoing.
