71-Year-Old William O’Connell Killed in Pecos County Pedestrian Accident

 
PECOS COUNTY, TX (December 19, 2023) — A 71-year-old man identified as William Harold O’Connell died in a crash on Thursday, December 7.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened on Highway 285 near mile marker 421 at around 6:43 p.m.
 
Texas DPS said 41-year-old Joshua Robert Pass, of Fort Stockton, drove a 2017 Ford F-250 southbound on Highway 285. Then his truck hit O’Connell, who was in the roadway.
 
First responders arrived at the scene and pronounced O’Connell dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the Ford did not sustain any injuries.
 
The investigation of the crash is still underway.
