Two Get Killed, Leslie Gonzalez Frias Suffers Injuries After Head-On Crash on Maher Road

 
WATSONVILLE, CA (October 13, 2022) — Two people died while 20-year-old Leslie Gonzales Frias suffered injuries following a head-on crash on Maher Road on early Monday morning, October 10.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision, which occurred at around 5:10 a.m., involved a Ford Explorer and a Nissan Pathfinder.

Authorities said the Explorer, being driven by Frias of Watsonville, traveled westbound on Maher Road, while the Pathfinder headed east. The Explorer then went across the median before colliding into the Pathfinder.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to the 68-year-old male driver and 63-year-old female passenger of the Pathfinder. Their identities were withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Frias survived the crash with major injuries, which she received treatment for at the Natividad Medical Center.

The circumstances behind the incident remain unavailable at this time. With the CHP Monterey Area Office at the helm, investigation continues.
