Bobby Tates Jr. Dead after Bryan Accident on Harvey Mitchell Parkway

 
BRYAN, TX (July 26, 2024) — A 49-year-old Bryan man identified as Bobby Ray Tates Jr. died in a Mack Truck accident on Wednesday, July 10.
 
According to the Bryan Police Department, officers responded to a major accident in the 1800 block of North Harvey Mitchell Parkway at about 3:20 p.m.
 
Bryan Police said that during an initial investigation of the accident, a 2002 Honda Accord driven by Tates Jr. traveled north on North Harvey Mitchell Parkway. At the same time, a 2007 Mack Truck traveled southbound on the same road. Then the Honda went into the southbound lane and crashed into the truck.
 
Tates Jr. sustained critical injuries in the crash. Paramedics transported him to CHI St. Joseph ER in Bryan, where medical personnel pronounced him dead.
 
After about an hour at the scene, police shut down the roadway from North Harvey Mitchell Parkway from Sandy Point Road to Highway 21.
