LYNNWOOD, WA (June 12, 2024) – The Lynnwood Police Department confirmed that one person suffered injuries in a suspected DUI accident on 5 Freeway on May 27.
 
The Washington State Patrol said the collision happened at 44th Avenue West. Based on a report, a trooper had impounded an abandoned vehicle on the freeway before the crash.
 
As the trooper’s car prepared to merge back into traffic, another car crashed into it.
 
As a result, both the trooper and the driver of the car sustained minor injuries.
 
Emergency crews took the driver to a hospital for medical clearance before booking the suspect into jail for investigation of driving under the influence.
