LAS VEGAS, NV (April 16, 2024) — A rider sustained critical injuries in a bicycle accident on Nellis Boulevard on Sunday, April 7.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the collision occurred at about 7:46 p.m. on Nellis Boulevard north of Bonanza Road.
 
Investigators believe a 2015 Honda Pilot traveled north on Nellis Boulevard. At the same time, a cyclist moved west and then tried to cross the street.
 
LVMPD said a crash occurred when the bicyclist darted across the roadway in an unsafe manner. It went into the path of the Honda. As a result, the front-left corner of the vehicle hit the bicyclist.
 
Medical responders arrived at the scene. After that, they brought the bicyclist to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. As of Monday morning, he is still in critical condition.
 
The driver of the Honda stayed on the scene. Police said she did not display any signs of intoxication.
