TEMPE, AZ (March 29, 2023) – Officers confirmed that one person suffered serious injuries in a wrong-way crash on westbound Loop 202on March 24.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Scottsdale Road shortly before 4:00 AM. Based on a report, a vehicle was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes at the time of the crash.
 
Troopers were working to intercept the wrong-way driver when the suspect crashed into another vehicle at the intersection with Scottsdale Road.
 
As a result, the male driver of the second car suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover.
