Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Lawndale Street in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (June 17, 2024) – The Houston Police Department confirmed one person died in a pedestrian accident in the 6500 block of Lawndale Street on June 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 9:10 PM. Based on a report, the was crossing a crosswalk at the intersection at the time of the accident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a taco truck driver hit the victim and fled the scene.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Police said the truck driver initially fled the scene but turned himself in, admitting he was the one who hit the pedestrian.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
