Nyree Jones and Jaelanni Baity Killed in Temple Motorcycle Accident

 
TEMPLE, TX (June 7, 2024) — 14-year-old Nyree Jones and 15-year-old Jaelanni Baity died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, May 26.
 
According to the Temple Police Department, the crash took place at the intersection of West Adams Avenue and Westfield Boulevard at around 12:30 a.m.
 
Temple PD said Jones and Baity were walking back home when a motorcycle struck them.
 
Officers then responded to the intersection. When they arrived, they pronounced Nyree and Jaelanni dead at the scene.
 
Emergency responder transported the motorcyclist to a hospital for life-threatening injuries. Temple PD later identified him as 18-year-old Logan Mayberry. A close family friend said that he is still unconscious as of Tuesday evening.
 
Temple police handle the ongoing investigation of the cause of the accident.
