Darlisse Rivera-Albino and Joel Montalvo Identified in Fatal Accident in Colorado Springs

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 7, 2024) – The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified 64-year-old Joel Montalvo and Darlisse Rivera-Albino who died in accidents on 25 Freeway on May 26.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at the MLK Bypass exit around 4:45 AM. Based on a report, a driver was traveling the wrong way on the northbound side of the freeway.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle collided with a second car head-on. Rivera-Albino was one of the drivers of the vehicles. After that crash occurred, Montalvo stopped and exited his vehicle to render aid. While attempting to cross the freeway, a third vehicle hit him.
 
As a result, Rivera-Albino and Montalvo suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
