Jose Patlan Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident

 
AUSTIN, TX (March 27, 2024) — A 40-year-old pedestrian identified as Jose Hernandez Patlan died in a crash on Saturday, March 2.
 
The Austin Police Department said the accident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of North Lamar Boulevard near Longspur Boulevard.
 
APD said a pickup truck hit Patlan as he walked on North Lamar Boulevard. When officers arrived at the area, they pronounced him dead on the scene.
 
The driver of the pickup truck stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Authorities said intoxication did not contribute as a factor in the incident.
 
Officials continue to the incident as Austin’s 12th fatal crash of 2024. They urge anyone with information to contact APD’s Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8111.
