Jonathan Fuentes-Wilson Killed, Juan Chavez Injured in Crash on South Loop 338 [Odessa, TX]

Jonathan Fuentes-Wilson Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Odessa

 
ODESSA, TX (October 3, 2023) – An Ector County Medical Examiner confirmed that 31-year-old Jonathan Pete Fuentes-Wilson of Odessa died in a crash on South Loop 338 on September 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the victim was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro westbound on South Loop 338 prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 33-year-old Juan Pablo Chavez was driving a 2013 Ford F-150 eastbound on the same road. Due to unknown reasons, Fuentes-Wilson failed to drive in a single lane and veered into the eastbound lane, striking Chavez.
 
As a result, Fuentes-Wilson suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. DPS said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
 
Crews transported Chavez to Medical Center Hospital in stable condition.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
