Humberto Escajeda Fatally Struck in El Paso Pedestrian Accident

 
EL PASO, TX (November 21, 2023) — One person identified as 33-year-old Humberto Escajeda died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, November 17.
 
According to El Paso Police, the accident took place on Montana Avenue and Willow Street shortly before 4:30 a.m.
 
Special Traffic Investigators said 45-year-old Carlos Lopez drove a pickup truck east on Montana Avenue. Then Escajeda crossed the street outside a crosswalk.
 
Lopez did not notice Escajeda until it was too late, police said.
 
Authorities said Lopez remained at the scene and called police. The driver has not been charged.
 
The incident is the 69th traffic fatality this year as compared to 64 this time last year.
