Five-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck and Seriously Injured by Vehicle on Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver

 
VANCOUVER, WA (January 15, 2025) – The Vancouver Police Department confirmed that a five-year-old child suffered injuries in an accident in the 8701 block of East Mill Plain Boulevard on January 9.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at the Townhouse Square Apartments around 3:30 PM. Based on a report, the child was riding his bike between two parked vehicles before the crash.
 
At the same time, a vehicle was traveling through the parking lot of the apartment. When the child entered the roadway area of the parking lot, he was hit by the vehicle. The driver said his rear-end tire ran over the victim who was not wearing a helmet.
 
As a result, the victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital for treatment.
 
The driver cooperated with police and neither speed nor impairment were factors in the collision.
