Two Police Vehicles Hit in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 60 in Wickenburg

 
WICKENBURG, AZ (January 15, 2025) – The Wickenburg Police Department arrested a driver following a wrong-way crash on Highway 60 on January 10.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near milepost 123 shortly before 9:00 PM. Based on a report, the suspect was going westbound in the highway’s eastbound lanes before the incident.
 
As a result, the wrong-way driver crashed head-on into two WPD units. The officers were trying to stop the driver at that time.
 
No police officer was hurt in the crash.
 
The wrong-way driver was taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital for injuries. The suspect was expected to be OK.
 
Crews closed the eastbound lanes of the highway while police work was ongoing.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
