Esteban Diego and Angelica Garcia Arrested after DUI Accident on Highway 395 near Pioneer Memorial Bridge

 
PASCO, WA (January 4, 2024) — Officials arrested two drivers, Esteban Francisco Diego and Angelica M. Garcia, after a DUI crash on Christmas Eve.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the wrong-way DUI accident took place on Highway 395, just north of the Pioneer Memorial Bridge.
 
WSP said 26-year-old Diego, of Hermiston, Oregon, drove a Honda Accord south in the northbound lanes of Highway 395 at around 12:45 a.m. His vehicle’s headlights also were off.
 
His Honda struck a Mazda CX-5 head driven by 37-year-old Garcia, of Kennewick, north in the northbound lanes of the highway.
 
Paramedics rushed Garcia via ambulance to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. Meanwhile, they rushed Diego to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Both wore their seat belts when the crash occurred.
 
Both drivers have pending DUI charges. In addition, they could also charge Diego with driving in the wrong direction and without headlights, WSP said.
 
Officials closed northbound Highway 395 to traffic until around 2:30 a.m.
