WICHITA FALLS, TX (September 11, 2024) — Derrick James Beeman died in a pedestrian accident on Wednesday, September 4.
 
According to the Wichita Falls Police Department, the crash took place on the 4700 block of Southwest Parkway at around 8:23 p.m.
 
Investigators believe Beeman walked across all six lanes of traffic. Then a 2008 Ford Mustang fatally hit him.
 
Responding officers pronounced Beeman dead at the location.
 
Police said the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with them.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident.
 
WFPD said that the incident is the 5th traffic-related fatality in Wichita Falls for 2024.
