CORRIGAN, TX (October 1, 2024) — A 20-year-old Corrigan man, Dameon Maleek Love, died in a motorcycle accident on Friday, September 20.
 
According to the Corrigan Police Department, the accident happened at about 9:45 p.m. on Highway 287. They said a motorcycle and an SUV crashed at the area.
 
The Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the scene.
 
After life-saving measures, emergency responders transported Love to CHI Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, where he died.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics airlifted the motorcycle passenger identified as 33-year-old Ashley Nicole Armstead, of Livingston, to a Houston hospital for treatment.
 
The SUV driver was not hurt. Authorities identified her as 45-year-old Latisha Dianna Brown, of Corrigan.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
