Sharon Bejarano and Martin Armenta Die after Phoenix Head-On Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (October 1, 2024) — Two people, Sharon Bejarano and Martin Thomas Lopez Armenta, died in an accident on Saturday, September 21.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the head-on accident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. on 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road.
MCSO said a woman and a man they later identified as 33-year-old Bejarano and 29-year-old Armenta died in the collision.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported four other people to the hospital. The sheriff’s office also confirmed that there were children in the accident. Some of them sustained serious injuries.
According to Bejarano’s aunt, her three young daughters were in the white pickup truck involved in the crash. The family said the girls suffered broken arms and legs. They underwent surgery and are expected to make full recoveries.
Bejarano’s family made a GoFundMe to help them with hospital and funeral costs.
Officers closed the road for several hours and reopened it at about 7:20 p.m.
Detectives continue to investigate what caused this crash.
