Christopher Sterling Killed after Odessa Motorcycle Crash
ODESSA, TX (January 18, 2024) — 57-year-old Christopher Earl Sterling of Springfield, Ohio died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, January 13th.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened near the intersection of 16th Street and Palomino Avenue at around 4:12 p.m.
Texas DPS said a 2001 Toyota Tacoma moved south on Palomino Avenue. Then it turned left onto 16th Street, traveling east. At the same time, a 2023 Harley Davidson FLHX also moving eastbound on 16th Street.
Then the Tacoma entered the roadway. It moved into the right lane, where it hit the Harley Davidson from behind.
Officials pronounced Sterling who drove the Harley Davidson dead at the scene. Reports said he did not wear a helmet at the time of the incident.
Authorities identified the driver of the Tacoma as 57-year-old Moraima Cardenas, of Odessa. There are no reports whether she was hurt.
