Ettie Hammett Airlifted after Denver City Hit-and-Run on West Broadway Street
DENVER CITY, TX (January 18, 2024) — A 79-year-old woman identified as Ettie Sue Hammett of Denver was injured in a hit-and-run on Friday, January 12.
According to the Denver City Police Department, the crash took place 300 block of West Broadway Street shortly after 6:15 p.m.
Police said Hammett was on her tricycle when an SUV struck her on West Broadway. After the crash, paramedics airlifted her to University Medical Center’s Surgical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries. She is still in the Intensive Care Unit as of Saturday afternoon.
Denver City Police said they offer a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest. They urge anyone with any information to call them at 806-592-3516.
