COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (January 18, 2024) — Officials arrested Robert Pearson after a car crash that killed on person near the UCCS campus on Monday, January 15.
 
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the incident happened at Austin Bluffs Parkway and Meadow Lane just before 5:15 p.m.
 
Officers responded to a crash on Austin Bluffs Parkway near the farthest east entrance into the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered one of the people involved in the crash died.
 
CSPD said due to the nature of the incident, the Major Crash Team took over the investigation.
 
While CSPD said the investigation is still in its early stage. However, they do believe speed and impairment contributed to the incident.
 
Lastly, CSSP said officials arrested Robert Pearson in connection to the crash. However, they did not release what charges he may be facing.
