Christopher Hale Killed after Motorcycle Accident on South MoPac Expressway

 
AUSTIN, TX (July 19, 2024) — Police identified 44-year-old Christopher Hale as the man killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, June 29.
 
According to the Austin police, the crash happened in the 2400 block of South MoPac Expressway northbound, just north of Loop 360, at about 11:56 p.m.
 
Austin Police officers said Hale fell off his motorcycle. Then a passing vehicle struck him. Responding officers then transported him to a hospital where he later died.
 
The occupants of the vehicle stayed at the scene and were not hurt. Authorities said that the driver was not under the influence.
 
Austin Police handles the ongoing investigation of the incident. They urge anyone with additional information to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111.
 
The incident is Austin’s 38th crash-related death this year.
