Alexandra Vargas Identified in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 19, 2024) – The San Antonio Police Department identified 23-year-old Alexandra Vargas who died in a fiery crash in the 500 block of Historic Old Highway 90 on June 28.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 1:51 AM. Based on a report, Vargas was a passenger in a black Dodge Charger traveling eastbound at a high speed before the crash.
Subsequently, the Dodge rear-ended a Ford pickup truck. The impact caused the Charger to catch fire.
As a result, Vargas suffered severe burns in the incident. Bystanders were able to pull her from the burning vehicle. EMS transported her to the hospital, where she later died.
The 24-year-old male driver of the Charger was able to escape the burning vehicle. Crews took him to the hospital with serious injuries.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
