Aracelli Villa Identified in Fatal Crash on State Loop 338 in Ector County
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (December 30, 2022) – Officials identified 47-year-old Aracelli Villa as the victim who died in a wrong-way crash on State Loop 338 on December 25.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened 1.5 miles south of Odessa around 7:05 PM.
Based on a report, a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on Loop 338 at the time of the crash. For unknown reasons, it veered into the southbound lane and continued to travel on the wrong side of the road. A 2019 Kia Forte where Villa was a passenger in attempted evasive action but was struck by the Jetta.
As a result, Villa suffered grave injuries. Crews transported her to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, where she later died.
The driver of the Kia Forte was treated and released from Medical Center Hospital and the driver of the Volkswagen Jetta was not hurt.
This crash is still under investigation.
