11-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized after Las Vegas Bicycle Accident on Cactus Avenue

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 5, 2024) — An 11-year-old Las Vegas boy sustained injuries in a bicycle crash on Cactus Avenue on Tuesday, January 30.
 
According to Metro Police, the accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. at Cactus Avenue and Cliff Lake Street.
 
Police said the truck was stopped at a stop sign north on Cliff Lake at Cactus. Simultaneously, the boy rode west on the south sidewalk along Cactus Avenue.
 
The cyclist exited the sidewalk into the intersection. At the same time, the pickup turned right onto Cactus and hit the boy.
 
The impact ejected the boy from the bike and the truck ran him over. Paramedics transported him to University Medical Center in critical condition.
 
The pickup driver only described as a 39-year-old Las Vegas man did not display any signs of impairment. He was not injured.
 
LVMPD officials continue to investigate the crash.
