Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on Lake Mead Boulevard at Tonopah Drive in North Las Vegas

 
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (February 5, 2024) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on Lake Mead Boulevard on January 28.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Tonopah Drive. Based on a report, a black GMC pickup truck ran a red light and hit the pedestrian who was near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Police said the driver of the truck kept driving and fled the scene.
 
As a result, the victim sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
LVMPD later reported that they already located the vehicle despite the suspect changing its color.
 
However, the suspect remains at large. Police now ask anyone with information to submit a tip to LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section at 702-828-3595.
