Zachary Young, Jatavion Rigsby Identified in Fatal Livingston Accident

 
LIVINGSTON, TX (March 24, 2023) – Officers identified 26-year-old Jatavion Rigsby of San Augustine and 30-year-old Zachary Young of Jasper as the victims who died in a van accident on Highway 59 on March 19.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about 8 miles south of Livingston shortly after 8:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Rigsby was driving a Texas Department of Criminal Justice van with Young, another TDCJ employee. There was one inmate onboard, 61-year-old Louis Matthews.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the van driver veered left and over-corrected to the right. Then, it went off the highway and then rolled three times before hitting several trees.
 
As a result, Rigsby and Young suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Matthews was flown by medical helicopter to a Houston hospital.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
