SACRAMENTO, CA (March 24, 2023) – The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified 52-year-old Richard Cortez of Glendale as the victim who died in a hit-and-run accident on Franklin Boulevard on March 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened between 26th Avenue and 27th Avenue around 6:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, a vehicle struck Cortez and fled the scene.
 
As a result, Cortez died at the hospital due to severe injuries.
 
Sacramento police closed the stretch of Franklin to traffic in both directions for several hours to investigate.
